About
Twenty years across journalism, content marketing, AI editorial systems, and environmental communications.
I've spent 20+ years writing, editing, and improving content across publishing, marketing, and digital operations. I started in print journalism and moved into digital early, so I've seen what actually helps content perform and what causes avoidable problems later.
For the past few years, my work has been almost entirely at the intersection of editorial ops and AI. Not using AI as a curiosity or a shortcut, but building the systems that make it work reliably at scale: prompt chains, style guides, SOPs, and QA processes that catch what the model gets wrong.
At CryptoNews.com, I worked as Editor, Copy Editor, and AI Editor. My team produced and QA'd 260 to 300+ articles a month across multiple publications. I designed and refined the editorial prompt chains and automations that cut turnaround time by 40%. I built style guides, training materials, and SOPs that were adopted company-wide. I mentored and managed 10+ writers and freelance content producers. In my first month, total article views increased by 177%. Within three months, average views per writer rose by 740%.
Before that, at Leads Panda, I worked as Lead Editor, SEO Content Strategist, and Content Marketer, managing and editing content for clients in tech and education. Workflow improvements cut production time by 89% for one client and improved engagement by 54% for another.
My background in communications and sustainability goes deeper than content marketing. For nearly a decade, I worked as Communications Coordinator and Content Strategist at Fair and Free Portals, a Netherlands-based sustainable business incubation platform built around economic democracy, cooperative enterprise, and ecological responsibility. The organization was developing a platform cooperative model to connect mission-driven businesses and local communities through integrated digital infrastructure. I managed communications and content across the organization, developed and edited business plans and offering memoranda, and worked directly with experienced entrepreneurs and marketing strategists who brought decades of business-building experience to the project.
For almost nine years I co-founded and led communications for Transition Town Peterborough, a grassroots environmental NGO working to build local resilience and reduce community dependence on fossil fuels. I edited the Community Greenzine, an environmental magazine, wrote media releases and newsletters, coordinated permaculture projects, and taught permaculture and ecological gardening to community members. Before that, I worked as Communications and Marketing Coordinator at GreenUp, central and eastern Ontario's leading environmental nonprofit. I wrote a weekly environmental column for the Peterborough Examiner and hosted a regular segment on CHEX TV.
As a freelance writer and editor since 2002, I've worked with 50+ clients. I've written for Dan Aykroyd's Crystal Head Vodka, AT&T, Casino.org, and ClickOut Media. I've written over 3,000 articles and edited over 8,000 pieces.
